Dezeen have published the video of winners of Dezeen Awards 2018 summing up architecture and design in one word! Without a second of hesitation Lukas Göbl came up with LOVE! Other winners came up with empathy, politics, persistance, people and space! What would you say?

We are pleased to announce that — out of a record number of 5,400 submissions — two of our projects have been awarded the German Design Award 2019: Herzogenburg Town Hall and the Winzerhof Dockner Winery. Both buildings placed in the Architecture category, each receiving a Special Mention. The German Design Award honors particularly successful solutions and design aspects — it is an award that tributes the commitment of companies and designers alike.

It is the premium international award of the German Design Council and has been celebrating innovative products, projects, producers, and designers that break new ground in the German and international design landscape since 2012. A high-caliber, international jury made up of design experts from business, education, science, and the design industry ensures that the best projects are selected.

The award ceremony will take place in February in Frankfurt am Main.

The winners of the Architecture Drawing Prize were presented at this year’s World Architecture Festival in Amsterdam. An excellent selection of drawn works from Lukas Göbl’s City of Beautiful Bodies Vol. IV project were exhibited alongside Carlijn Kingma’s The Babylonian Tower of Modernity and Li Han from Drawing Architecture Studio’s series of drawn works The Samsara of Building No. 42 on Dirty Street.

The highlight of the event was a conversation between Rem Koolhaas and Jeremy Melvin, curator of the festival and jury member of the Architecture Drawing Prize. Following the talk, awards were presented to the winners during a gala dinner on the impressive premises of the Beurs van Berlage (former Amsterdam Stock Exchange, designed by Hendrik Petrus Berlage). Paul Finch, the festival’s program director, led the evening and Frank Filskow, partner of make architects and co-initiator of the Architecture Drawing Prize, presented the trophies.

City of Beautiful Bodies is an ongoing drawing project by Lukas Göbl dedicated to a utopia of fantastical cities and landscapes.

75 jury members selected 159 nominees from an incredible 3,689 submissions from 91 countries, all of who were feverishly looking forward to the announcement of the award winners in the tanks of the Tate Modern London.
We were there in person, supported by Johann Gettinger, the Tower of Power project manager at BFI Vienna, and were absoutely delighted when Sir Lenny Henry, BBC legend and the evening’s presenter, announced our project the winner of the Transport Design category.
The trophy, which we brought back to Vienna in one piece (with excess luggage), was designed by Dutch design studio Atelier NL — also award-winners of the evening — and now stands proudly in our personal Hall of Fame.

We won!!!

It is with great joy that we announce that our work has – once again – been conferred an international award.
This time, the honor goes to the Dockner Wine Cellar in Höbenbach bei Krems. The highly esteemed members of the award jury – including Ben van Berkel, Carla Juacaba, and Alejandro Zaero-Polo – chose our project as the winner of the Agricultural Buildings category of the ArchitectureMasterPrize (formerly the AAP Architecture Prize). The winning projects will be presented next year in the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.

We’ve been working at our Kaiserstraße office for a year now, meaning the for a party had arrived. This then turned into a 45th anniversary celebration – Fritz Göbl opened his office in Krems in 1973.
Florian Medicus gave a delightful talk on humor in architecture and the work of Bruno Klomfar. To stimulate our minds and bodies, fantastic food was served up by Chef Ivan Mascia, accompanied by the wines of our winery friends and clients Sepp and Josef Dockner, Meinhard Forstreiter and Josef and Matthias Burger.

Unlike standard architectural production, which is generally more focused on reality, City of Beautiful Bodies by Lukas Göbl is an ongoing drawing project dedicated to utopia that presents fantastical cities and landscapes. The current drawings of City of Beautiful Bodies Vol. IV won over the jury of this year’s Architecture Drawing Prize and, out of a large number of submissions from 31 countries, was voted winner in the Hybrid category.

The work will be on display at Sir John Soane’s Museum in London until November 18 and will be presented at the World Architecture Festival in Amsterdam from November 28 to 30, 2018.
